How does the coaching experience work?

  • We meet together each week on the phone and can email back and forth as often as is helpful.  (We love receiving little updates or clarifications through out the week!)
  • Based on your specific focus the conversations and “homework” will look different, but basically, we'll assess your personal strengths, explore your interests, establish the values that drive you forward, understand your areas of passion, and learn about your life's peak experiences.  All of this is to help you identify and clarify your preferred future, the life you really want to live.
  • You take action toward your goals each week, building on your success and being accountable for your choices. You take on as much homework as you’re willing to.  Most of the growth/learning/action is accomplished between the calls.  So in other words, you get from coaching what you’re willing to put into it.
  • We facilitate your progress through feedback, action planning, and follow-up. We have consistent dialogue on important issues and devise creative means for overcoming obstacles.
  • We continue the coaching relationship until you are completely satisfied with the outcomes, usually from three to eighteen months depending on the complexity of your objectives, often for maintenance purposes it might be most helpful to eventually transition into monthly appointments.

How often, and when, can we connect?

Our coaching is offered weekly in 30-45 minute phone sessions based on when we come to a good stopping point in conversation.  We’re not sticklers with a timer sitting in front of us!  Phone charges are included in the coaching fees regardless of where you live in the world.  Coaching sessions are typically available Tuesday through Thursday, though some exceptions can be made.  This is supplemented with as much email coaching and “power calls” between sessions as needed or desired.

Is it effective to coach over the phone?

Through the years we have met both in person and over the phone and have found that most people feel safer sitting in the environment of their choosing rather than in an office somewhere.  Talking on the phone fosters an honesty as it includes an “anonymity” factor that sitting in front of someone doesn’t provide.  We are available to still meet with individuals near the San Francisco area, but nearly all of our clients choose the convenience and safety of phone calls.

What is the cost?

In a nutshell, the financial investment is $450 per month or to save $155 (over a 10% savings) then a 3 month journey can be purchased at $1195. See all of our coaching packages to find the one that fits your needs the best. Some scholarships are available if needed.

How long will we work together?

Our clients usually start with a 3 to 6 month period—through a transition or evaluation and action phase.   Our goal isn’t to make you dependent on us, but rather to work ourselves out of a job with you!  There will be a good ending when we have a new beginning. We ask our clients to stay with us as long as they’re getting MORE value from the sessions than what they’re paying.  Many clients prefer to transition into a maintenance relationship with us where they check in once a month for accountability, assessment and continued inspiration.  We’ll shape it with you based on your needs along the way!

What if I’m not sure I need coaching?

You’ll be relieved to know that most people feel that way.  Some people are clearly set that they want to have a coach, but they tend to be people who have had that experience in the past at some point and already know the value of it.  But new clients often feel as though they can do for themselves what they might receive.  And you might be able to.  But have you?  That’s the question.

What if I decide not to finish the coaching term?

This has yet to happen with anyone because people who commit to coaching always find great value in it.  But there’s always a first time!  So, if at some point during the coaching your situation changes or you feel you’re not getting value, we’re pretty certain we’ll both know it.  You are free to stop at the end of any four-week cycle and get a full refund for any unused portion of the purchased package.  (You would then be charged at the normal monthly rate for the coaching you’ve used rather than the discounted rate.)

Do I have any guarantee?

Absolutely—all good products should come with a customer satisfaction guarantee! After you have completed your first session, if you don’t feel completely satisfied that you have made the right decision, we will be happy to refund your money in full.  Not a problem!
