Spiritual Coaching

“Many people will seek to change every other area of their life before realizing that a few months of spiritual exploration often brings the peace, perspective, balance and clarity that they crave.”
--Shasta Nelson
If you’re like us and a lot of other people these days, you probably wrestle with some of these issues:
  • You want to be spiritual but shy away from organized religion that tends to tell you what to believe and how to live – traditional religion often seems too dogmatic and judgmental and confining.
  • You feel overwhelmed and confused with all the religious / spiritual options available these days and you’re unsure of how to navigate the search – what to look for and how to go about it.
  • You feel a lack of current spiritual fulfillment.
  • You feel distance with God.
  • You feel uncertain about who God is and how God fits into your personal life.
  • You lack self-confidence and awareness of who you really are and what you’re designed to contribute to the world.
  • You feel unloved or unworthy or unvaluable in your current life.
  • You feel isolated or a lack of meaningful relationships that support you on your current life journey and spiritual search.
  • You feel a lack of meaning and purpose in your life lately – all you’re currently doing doesn’t feel enough or fill an internal void – you struggle with a sense of lack of strategic direction.
  • If any of these statements resonate with you, perhaps engaging in spiritual coaching might be a way to help you process what you’re feeling or wrestling with. We work with people all the time who are looking for some guidance in defining a spirituality that fits them (as opposed to being given a preset mold they have to fit into). Discovering and shaping a meaningful and deep spiritual life sometimes takes guidance from a trusted person who is experienced in asking the right questions, helping you to find your style and approach, and guiding you to good resources that can deepen your life transformation and search.

We both currently pastor a very energizing and progressive spiritual community called Second Wind that seeks to embrace the value of religious diversity and perspectives, believing there is much to be learned and appreciated in a variety of spiritual practices. It's about helping people find their personal spiritual journey in the context of supportive, safe, and transforming community.

As one spiritual psychiatrist put it: "There are two things in life you cannot do alone: be married, and be spiritual." Spirituality is most effectively formed and shaped in an environment of mutual support and encouragement. People need people.

So drop us a line and tell us what your spiritual experience has been? What would you like it be? We would be honored to be a meaningful part of your journey in whatever ways would be helpful! We look forward to hearing from you.
